US Army Corps Of Engineers In Felton?

A concerned citizen has informed the US Army Corps of Engineers that a possible violation has occurred with Mr. Gaffney’s proposed “Pump Track” to be constructed in front of the existing and historically significant Felton Covered Bridge, which is located inside and adjacent to a Santa Cruz County Park that is under Mr. Gaffney’s jurisdiction and responsibility. The US Army Corps of Engineers has agreed to evaluate the situation and will be getting back to the concerned citizen within a few days.

  1. FYI–The Army Corps of Engineers has jurisdiction over floodplains and floodways with regard to the navigable waters of the U.S. They have a long history of dealing with flooding and levees on the lower San Lorenzo River, in Santa Cruz. FEMA has spent a lot of money in the flood plain next to the CVP in Felton Grove, elevating houses and helping to pay for flood damage.
